Language Ideologies, Practices, and Kindergarteners’ Narrative Macrostructure Development: Crucial Factors for Sustainable Development of Early Language Education

This paper explored crucial factors to achieve sustainable development of early language education by examining the relationship between two dimensions family policy—language ideologies and practices—as well as policy children’s narrative macrostructure. Data were collected via a performance test questionnaire survey 131 kindergartners from 10 kindergartens in Chinese city. Structural equation modeling corroborated practices proposed theorists. Results showed that significantly predicted kindergarteners’ In addition, age was shown be significant predictor macrostructure development, whereas gender not. Implications for intervention discussed.
